100 days gratitude challenge

Yesterday I was out for a jog along a canal and there were two JCBs and some supervisors working at 6:30 in the morning clearing the debris so the water can flow freely and without hindrance. Most people would have been deep in sleep in their beds enjoying the Sunday holiday. But for these people it was work as usual and they were busy ensuring that we are able to enjoy the monsoons without having to fear about flooding.
There are countless such people out there whose work is making our life easier. The city conservation workers, the maintenance staff. EB, water board, Police and other Govt Staff, etc are all engaged in ensuring that we get our basic neccessites and we are kept safe from calamities and danger. Most of the time we do not even know that they are taking care of us but because they are doing their duty we are benefitted.
I’m grateful to these people who are toiling for us. We remember them only when something is missed out. Otherwise we take their service for granted.  I would like to acknowledge all those people out there whose work is making my life easier.
May God bless them and take care of them. I especially seek God’s blessings on all the workers, supervisors and officers  who are engaged in desilting of storm water drains and canals and preparing the city for the rains. May they be given all the resources and may they be able to complete their work on time so that Chennai is safe and people’s daily life is not affected by the expected rains.

Thank you dear city workers for your dedication and hard work.

Gratitude to all the people who provide me food and water When I was born, many decades ago, my body weight was just 3.8 kgs and I was a helpless bundle of tissue, bone, flesh, skin, and body mass who had to have everything done for me. Today my body weight hovers around the 76 kgs mark and I think I’m responsible for the lives of so many people who depend on me. How did I get from that to here? The obvious answer is all the food that I gorged upon, since the day I was born. The produce of the earth went into me and grew my muscles, tissues, bones, and body mass to grow into this 5’10” human being who weighs in at around 76 kgs. Exceptional Sunday

Sunday this week was exceptional. Can you guess why?  C'mon take a guess. Even a wild one. Doubt you will get it right. No, I did not do something out of the world and adventurous. No, I didn't do something stupid or dangerous. No, I didn't do whatever you are thinking. I went for a workshop titled "Exceptionalism". Strange name right? Conducted by my friend Ramya. She's a young trainer who quit her IT job a year ago to follow her passion. Yes, she's one of the bold ones to take that decision and is making it work in a very short time.
